Volocopter

Volocopter (formerly called E-Volo GmbH) is a German aircraft manufacturer that specializes in the design of electric multirotor helicopters in the form of ready-to-fly aircraft, designed for air taxi use.

Volocopter saves time, is extremely safe, emission-free and quiet. It is the most modern means of transportation for cities worldwide.

Volocopter was founded in 2012 by Alexander Zosel and Stephen Wolf. The company has its headquared in Stuttgart, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.

 

Volocopter's two-seat project that became the Volocopter 2X started in 2013, evolved from early single-seat Volocopter VC2 prototype flown in 2011. The two seat prototype was designated as the VC-200 and the derived production model the 2X.

 

Volocopter is backed by Intel, Daimler, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, btov Partners and lukasz Gadowski. The company raised €50M in its latest "Series C" financing on Sep 9, 2019. This bringss Volocopter's total funding to €81.2M to-date.
