Vendease

Vendease is a digital platform that allows restaurants in Africa to buy supplies, access financial services and power their business operations.

Vendease's mission is to enable the efficient flow of food across the continent, from point of production to point of consumption.

Vendease was founded in 2019 by Tunde Kara, with Olumide Fayankin, Gatumi Aliyu and Wale Oyepeju. The company is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria.

Vendease is building the operating system that automates the flow of food - from farm to restaurant, optimises business operations across the value chain through accurate data deployment, reduces wastage and drives profitability.

Vendease’s digital procurement engine makes it easier for restaurants in cities across Nigeria and Ghana, to buy food supplies at considerably cheaper rates than open market prices, with guaranteed 12-hour delivery.

Vendease claims to have moved approximately 400,000 metric tonnes of food for its more than 2,000 customers, and assisted them in saving about $2M in procurement costs and over 10,000 in person-hours over the last 12 months.

Vendease is backed by TLcom Capital, Partech Africa, Global Founders Capital, Y Combinator, VentureSouq, Soma Capital, Liquid 2 Ventures, Hustle fund, Hack VC, GFR Fund, Kube VC, Magic Fund, Kairos Angels, and others. The company raised $30M Series A round ($20M in equity and $10M in debt) on Sep 26, 2022. This brings Vendease's total funding to $43.3M to date.
