Twelve, formerly known as Opus 12, is the carbon transformation company, a new kind of chemical company built for the climate era.

Twelve was co-founded in 2015 by Etosha Cave, Kendra Kuhl, and Nicholas Flanders. The company is headquartered in Berkeley, California.

Twelve’s first commercial products, a line of CO2Made sunglasses with sustainable fashion brand PANGAIA, and carbon-neutral sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), E-Jet.

 

Twelve’s partners include Mercedes-Benz, Procter & Gamble, Shopify, the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the U.S. Air Force, all of which use Twelve’s breakthrough carbon transformation technology to reduce emissions and create CO2Made products.

 

Twelve is backed by DCVC, Capricorn Technology Impact Fund, Capricorn Technology Impact Fund, Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Carbon Direct Capital Management, Munich Re Ventures, Elementum Ventures, and others. The company raised $130M in Series B round on Jun 29, 2022. This brings Twelve's total funding to $199.4M to date.
