Tarabut is a MENA regulated Open Banking platform that connects a regional network of banks and FinTechs via a universal application programming interface (API).

Tarabut Gateway’s mission is to facilitate the creation and distribution of personalized financial services.

Tarabut Gateway was founded in Bahrain in 2018 by Abdulla Almoayed. The company is headquartered in Manama, Bahrain, with presence in Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

 

Tarabut Gateway enables seamless and secure data flow and connectivity between banks and fintechs, supports the creation of a thriving ecosystem, and ultimately provides a better consumer experience.

 

Tarabut was granted a licence by the Dubai Financial Services Authority to provide money services in the Dubai International Financial Centre last year. The company also forayed into the region’s crypto market by teaming up with Bahrain’s teamed with Rain to boost fiat-to-crypto transactions.

 

Tarabut has partnerships with leading banks such as Alinma Bank, Arab National Bank, Saudi National Bank, Riyad Bank, among others. The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has included Tarabut Gateway as one of the first participants in its Regulatory Sandbox.

 

Tarabut is backed by Tiger Global, Target Global, Kingsway, Pinnacle Capital, Visa, CE Ventures, Entrée Capital, Dubai International Fintech Fund, Aljazira Capital, Global Ventures, Almoayed Technologies, and others. The company raised $32M in a Series A round on May 03, 2023. This brings Tarabut's total funding to $57M to date.
