Smart Beat is a B2C infant monitoring system solutions company that engineers and manufactures state of the art, computer vision powered infant monitoring systems.
SmartBeat's technology represents a major break-through in infant monitoring technologies. To be able to bring affordable infant monitoring technologies to the home is a central mission of Smart Beat.
Smart Beat was founded in 2012 by Nathan Ruben and is based in Smithfield, Utah.
Smart Beat tracks your baby's breathing by analyzing how the pixels change color every time your baby moves. It can identify more than 16 million shades of color, so it can track movement that is too slow and subtle to be seen by the human eye. Smart Beat captures 20 frames per second, and each frame contains 2 million pixels, for a total of 40 million pixels analyzed every second.
Smart Beat sounds an alarm if it detects that your baby has stopped breathing for more than 20 seconds—a clinical apnea. It will also send a notification if the breathing rate is high enough or low enough to be a cause for concern. Smart Beat will sound an alarm on your mobile device that goes off even if your phone is in sleep mode, and even if your ringer has been turned off.
Smart Beat has received a Seed Funding of an Undisclosed amount from Ideaship Venture Partner, on Aug 30, 2019.
