Sistema.bio

Sistema is an award-winning waste and resource management system that is economically accessible and technologically advanced.

Sistema's biodigester package produces biogas for thermal & mechanical energy and biofertilizer.

Sistema.bio (Sistema Biobolsa) was founded in 2010 by Alexander Eaton and Camilo Pages. The company is headquartered in Mexico. Sistema.bio operates hubs in Mexico, Colombia, Kenya and India

Sistema.bio provides access to innovative biodigester technology, training and financing to farmers to address the challenges of poverty, food security and climate change. The digesters are designed to serve a wide range of farms and sanitation projects and are currently used in 30 countries around the world.

Sistema's patented technology allows farmers across the world to efficiently convert their waste into renewable energy and biofertiliser. The biodigesters can handle dung from two cows to generate cooking fuel for households, which in turn reduces tree cutting for firewood or charcoal.

Sistema is reaching more than 200,000 farmers in 30 countries and has manufacturing facilities in India, Mexico, Colombia and Kenya.

Sistema is backed by Engie RDE, Endeavor Catalyst, Factor E Ventures, Native, KawiSafi Ventures, EU ElectriFI fund, Chroma Impact, EcoEnterprises Fund, DILA Capital, AXA IM Alts, and others. The company raised Sh1.2 billion ($10M) in a new round on Oct 27, 2022. This brings Sistema's total funding to $38M to date.
