Sila Nanotechnologies allows you to test in cells today, significantly increase the energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Their materials are manufacturable economically at scale, and are drop-in replaceme.


Sila currently has partnerships with BMW, Daimler, and ATL, aims to start production at the new plant in 2024 and powering electric vehicles by 2025.


Sila is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Coatue, Matrix Partners, Daimler, 8VC, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Sutter Hill Ventures, & In-Q-Tel among others. The company raised $590M in Series F round on Jan 26, 2021. This brings Sila's total funding to $830M to date. The Series F round pushed Sila's valuation to $3.3B post-money. The company was previously valued at $1B after it had raised it Series E in Apr 2019.
