pureLiFi, a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh, is a Light communication company that provides LiFi technology to mass-market mobile device and lighting manufacturers.

pureLiFi is developing and delivering technology for secure, reliable, high-speed communication networks that seamlessly integrate data and lighting utility infrastructures and significantly reduce energy consumption.

pureLiFi was founded in 2012 by Prof. Harald Haas and Dr Mostafa Afgani. The company is headquartered in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.

pureLiFi offers real LiFi solutions that are bi-directional, high speed and fully networked wireless communications using light. It is the most comprehensive LiFi offering on the market. Products to evaluate, integrate and deploy LiFi technology.

PureLiFi uses light to transmit data rather than conventional radio frequency systems such as Wi-Fi or cellular-based communications. It's evaluation kits (EVK) are suited to manufacturers of lighting, mobile devices and connected “things”. They offer two variations of our EVK for exploring the use of LiFi components.

pureLiFi can work with manufacturers to integrate a Gigabit Light Antenna™ into their next lighting product, or connected device. Along with a complete set of design guidelines.

pureLiFi is backed by Temasek Holdings, The Scottish Investment Bank (SIB), Scottish National Investment Bank, and others.. The company raised £10M in a new financing round on Jul 13, 2022. This brings pureLiFi's total funding to $73M to date.
