Professional Fighters League

PFL is an American mixed martial arts league that presents MMA for the first time in the sport-season format where individual fighters control their own destiny, competing in a Regular Season, Playoffs, and Championship.

PFL is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season, and championship, rather than on a year-round basis.

PFL was founded in 2018, following the acquisition of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017. The company is headquartered in New York, New York.

PFL events are broadcast live in primetime on ESPN2 and ESPN+ in the United States and distributed to 160 additional countries around the world on premium sports networks.

PFL uses the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts regulated by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The League uses a unique ten-sided (decagon) cage for their events.

PFL is backed by Washington Wizards and Capitals, SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, Ares Capital, Elysian Park Ventures, Knighthead Capital and others. The company raised $65M in a new round on Feb 18, 2021. This brings PFL's total funding to $173M to date.
