Pony.ai

Pony.ai is an autonomous vehicle technology company spearheading the future of mobility by building the safest and most reliable technology for autonomous vehicles.

Pony.ai aims to deliver autonomous mobility everywhere by building the safest and most reliable self-driving technology.

Pony ai was founded in December 2016 by James Peng and Lou Tiancheng. The company is co-located in Silicon Valley, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Pony ai is developing Level 4 fully autonomous driving vehicles that will revolutionize the transportation system.

Pony.ai has launched autonomous mobility pilots in multiple cities across the US and China, serving hundreds of riders everyday. These pilots have enabled the company to build a strong technical and operational foundation to further expand and improve our service.

Pony’s full-stack hardware platform, PonyAlpha, leverages lidars, radars, and cameras to keep tabs on obstacles within up to 200 meters of its self-driving cars. Pony.ai signed a strategic agreement with Guangzhou Auto Group and subsequently rolled out a fleet of vehicles in Guangzhou itself. That fleet has now given 1,000 rides in a 30-km area.

Pony.ai is backed by Toyota Motor Corporation, Sequoia Capital China, Morningside Ventures, DCM Ventures, ClearVue Partners, Eight Roads, Green Pine Capital Partners, Redpoint Ventures China and others. The company raised $462M in a Series C round on Feb 26, 2020, with a valuation of $3B post-money.
