Pontifax AgTech was founded in 2014 by Ben Belldegrun and Phil Erlanger. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, with an office in Herzliya, Israel.


Pontifax AgTech works in partnership with its extensive network of growers, technology experts and strategic corporate partners. The Firm's principals work with a proprietary network of leading growers, technology experts and strategic corporate partners to thoroughly evaluate and maximize the success of the Fund's investments.


Pontifax AgTech has invested in eleven industry-leading companies. The Firm's initial fund closed at $105 million in October 2017. Fund I has monetized two investments through the sale of Blue River Technology, And the successful IPO of Precision Biosciences.


Pontifax AgTech has closed its Fund II with commitments totaling $302M on Oct 08, 2020. Fund II reached its extended hard cap of $300 million and was oversubscribed, bringing the Firm's current total AUM to $465M.
