Ola Electric was established in 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ANI Technologies, the parent entity of Ola Cabs. The company is based in Bangalore, and has a manufacturing plant in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
Ola Electric launched its electric scooter — base variant S1, and top-end version S1 Pro. The Ola S1 Air is the company’s most affordable e-scooter, launched in India last year, with three different variants available and a starting price of ₹84,999 for the base model.
Ola's latest MoveOS 3 and offers a range of 76km. The scooter comes in various color options such as Coral Glam, Jet Black, Liquid Silver, Neo Mint, and Porcelain White. It is powered by a 2.5KWh lithium-ion battery that takes approximately 4.5 hours to fully charge.
Ola's electric two-wheeler manufacturer has been clocking an average monthly run rate of over 20,000 units. More than 300,000 of its e-scooters are in use on public roads today.
Ola Electric is backed by Tiger Global, Temasek, SoftBank, Ratan Tata, Matrix India, Falcon Edge, Tekne Private Ventures, Alpine Opportunity Fund, Edelweiss, and others. The company raised $300M (Rs 2500 crore) in a new round on May 23, 2023. This brings Ola Electric's total funding to $1.16B to date. The latest round valued the company at a $6B post-money. Ola Electric was previously valued at a $5B in its $200M financing raised in Jan 2022.
