Ninja Van was founded in 2014 by Lai Chang Wen, Shaun Chong, and Boxian Tan. The company is based in Singapore, with operations in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

 

Ninja Van started operations in Singapore to address the logistics needs of customers by offering them options of tracking their parcels, receiving real-time updates and gaining access to alternative pickup points.

 

Ninja Van also runs Ninja Direct, which helps online sellers, source, purchase, ship, and finance wholesale products. In Malaysia, it has launched a business-to-business logistics arm.

 

Ninja Van claims to deliver approximately 2 million parcels a day, with more than 1.5 million active shippers and around 100 million recipients.

 

Ninja Van is backed by Alibaba Group, B Capital Group, DPDgroup’s GeoPost, Zamrud, Carmenta Capital Management, Bangkok Bank, Abraaj Group, Monk’s Hill Ventures, and others. The company raised $578M in Series E round on Sep 26, 2021. This brings Ninja Van's total funding to $819.5M to date. The latest round mints Ninja Van a unicorn with a valuation of over $1B post-money.
