NextStep is a mobile-based training and job placement company aiming to expand the supply of qualified Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to address the nation’s caregiver shortage crisis.

NextStep takes the friction and cost out of  becoming a CNA and landing the perfect CNA job.

NextStep was founded in 2018 by Chris Hedrick and Charissa Raynor. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

NextStep, through a pilot in the state of Colorado approved by the state’s Board of Nursing, has already enrolled more than 2,000 learners. Graduates are placed in jobs with NextStep’s employer partners.

NextStep's model is unique as learners only pay a low upfront cost to begin learning and are immediately matched with an employer. Once complete and certified in their training, workers are placed in a job that matches their new skills.

NextStep is backed by Springrock Ventures, Jazz Venture Partners, Learn Capital’s LearnStart fund, ZOMA Capital, ETF@JFFlabs and others. The company raised $2.5M in new financing on Jan 05, 2021. This brings NextStep's total funding to $6.1M to date.
