Neuralink

Neuralink is an American neurotechnology company, developing ultra high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers.

Neuralink has been working on for the last two years. The company will explore how brain interfaces might alleviate the symptoms of dangerous and chronic medical conditions.

Neuralink was founded in 2016 by Elon Musk, Max Hodak, Ben Rapoport, Dongjin Seo, Paul Merolla, Philip Sabes, Tim Gardner, Tim Hanson and Vanessa Tolosa. The company is based in San Francisco, California.

Neuralink is creating the future of brain-machine interfaces: building devices now that will help people with paralysis and inventing new technologies that will expand our abilities, our community, and our world.

Neuralink is targeting its first devices at quadriplegics — who are unable to interact with many of today’s devices — and it is working toward human trials.

Neuralink's first product, known as the N1 Link, will be “completely invisible” once implanted and transmit data via a wireless connection.

Neuralink is backed by Google Ventures, Founders Fund, Vy Capital, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Valor Equity Partners, and others. The company raised $205M in Series C round on Jul 30, 2021. This brings Neuralink's total funding to $363M to date.
