MOVii was founded in 2018 by Hernando Rubio and Julian Montejo. The company is headquartered in Bogota, Cundinamarca, Colombia.
Movii serve its customers through a mobile financial solution and large network of agents (Moviired) and retailers offering convenient products like P2P, bill payment, correspondent banking, public transportation and recharge of prepaid services.
Movii is the biggest company in Colombia offering digital deposits and payments, with more than 2 million users. As part of a government pilot in July, Movii worked with two exchanges, Panda and Bitpoint, that enabled financial institutions to offer deposit and withdrawal services to and from a crypto exchange.
MOVii has raised $15M in a Series B funding on Oct 08, 2021. The round was led by Square and Greg Kidd’s investment fund Hard Yaka.
