Minut is a Scandinavian startup pioneering a new approach to home security. The company has developed a camera-less home security device that it claims protects privacy better than competitors.
Minut allows you to wirelessly monitor and protect your home anywhere, anytime. Its an all-in-one smart home alarm that’s easy-to-install, packed full of sensors. So, whether you’re just checking in, or responding to an alert.
Minut was founded in 2014 by Nils Mattisson, Marcus Ljungblad, Martin Lööf, & Fredrik Ahlberg. The company is based out of Malmö. Sweden, with offices in Stockholm and Shenzhen.
Minut's all-in-one device monitors more than just movement, it also monitors temperature, sound, humidity, temperature, pressure and the risk of mold growing. You can set custom thresholds and if anything out of the ordinary happens we’ll let you know instantly.
Minut has developed Point is the smart home alarm that lets you know if something is wrong at home—without invasive cameras. If an important event happens, Point alerts you and your community of family, friends or neighbours instantly, so you can help each other when looking after your home. Point also keeps track of the indoor environment, mould for example, allowing you to make sure everyone in the home stays safe and sound.
Minut can also detect the sound of other alarms going off. So, if you’re away and your smoke or Co2 detector goes off you’ll be notified instantly via the app. We’re constantly expanding the library of sounds that the device knows, so whatever alarm you’ve got installed, we’ve got you covered.
Minut is backed by SOSV, Karma Ventures, KPN Ventures, & Nordic Makers among others. The company raised $8M in it's latest funding of a "Series A" round on Jul 29, 2019, bringing Minut's total funding to $10.7M to-date.
