MatHem is an ecommerce company that combines a complete grocery store online with recipes and subscriptions for ready-made groceries.

MatHem's platform designed to deliver an assortment of grocery products across Sweden through its online store. 

MatHem was founded in 2009 by Karolin Kull and Tomas Kull. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, with presence in Uppsala, Södertälje, Gothenburg, Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg and the surrounding area.

 

MatHem’s grocery store provides a flexible ecommerce service for groceries, kitchen goods, home furnishings, pharmacy items, and prescription medications, among other things. The company delivers food to customers’ doorstep with their own refrigerated trucks to ensure an unbroken refrigerated chain.

 

MatHem owns the entire distribution chain from ordering and warehousing to refrigerated and freezer trucks for the ‘highest’ quality and service. Together with their partners Clas Ohlson and Kronans Apotek, the company offers a one-stop shop experience and supplement their range of daily goods

 

MatHem also has Tasteline.com, which is Sweden's leading recipe site with 30,000 recipes, inspiring articles, dietary advice, etc. and with about 3 million visits a month. Recently, the company acquired 100 per cent shares in Kavall, a homegrown competitor that promises to deliver groceries in ten minutes.

 

MatHem is backed by Kinnevik, GP Bullhound, Verdane, Axfood, AMF, Rite Ventures, Stena, P Capital Partners, Bonnier Ventures, VNV, and others. The company raised SEK 1B (approx. €84.93M) in a new round on May 17, 2023. This brings MatHem's total funding to $415M to date.
