Intercom

Intercom is a computer software and messaging platform that helps businesses connect with customers.

Intercom allows software businesses to chat with prospective and existing customers within their app, on their website, through social media, or via email.

Intercom was founded in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, David Barrett, Ciaran Lee & Des Traynor. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and additional offices in Chicago, Dublin and London.

Intercom’s platform lets businesses track and filter customer data. This data includes conversation history, product usage behavior, past purchases, payment details, etc. Businesses can use these attributes to trigger personalized, automated marketing emails and in-app messages.

Today more than 25,000 businesses, including New Relic, Sotheby’s, and Shopify, use Intercom to connect with a billion unique people worldwide.
