Figma is the first professional-grade online tool created specifically for interface design.

Figma helps teams create, test, and ship better designs from start to finish.

Figma was founded in 2012 by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Figma allow developers to build in their own tools to the app, such as a plug-in for designers to automatically rename and organize their layers as they work (Rename.it) and one that gives users the ability to add placeholder text that they can automatically find and replace later (Content Buddy).

Figma has also launched an educational platform called Community, which gives designers the ability to share their work and let other users ‘remix’ that design, or simply check out how it was built, layer by layer.

Figma is backed by Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Index, Greylock, KPCB, Founders Fund and others. The company raised $50M in a Series D round on Apr 30, 2020. This brings Figma's total funding to $132.9M to date. The latest round also values Figma at $2B.
