Emesent

Emesent is a drone autonomy and data analytics company that automates the collection and analysis of critical data in challenging underground environments. It is a spin-out from CSIRO’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group.

Emesent develops innovative end-to-end data solutions for the infrastructure and mining industries.

Emesent was founded in 2018 by Stefan Hrabar & Farid Kendou and is based in Pullenvale, Queensland, Australia.

Emesent's vision is to automate the collection and analysis of data in challenging GPS-denied environments, delivering revolutionary efficiency, safety and operational insights to underground mining and other industries.

Emesent's core areas of expertise are drone autonomy, SLAM-based LiDAR mapping and data analytics. The company delivers revolutionary efficiency, safety and operational insights to underground mines and other GPS-denied environments.

Emesent's flagship product is the award-winning Hovermap; a LiDAR mapping and autonomy payload for industrial drones. It offers revolutionary efficiency, safety and operational insights to challenging above ground, underground and GPS-denied environments. It provides collision avoidance, GPS-denied flight, advanced autonomy and SLAM-based LiDAR mapping. This allows a Hovermap-enabled drone to be deployed in challenging GPS-denied environments, to collect 3D and other data which was previously impossible to collect. This new data in turn leads to new insights.

Emesent is backed by Main Sequence Ventures & and Andy Greig from ACAC Innovation. The company has raised A$3.5M ($2.5M) in its single Venture Round funding round.
