Ecozen was founded in 2010 by Devendra Gupta, Vivek Pandey, and Prateek Singhal. The company is headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, with offices in Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Delhi.

 

Ecozen anufactures proprietary, solar-powered, micro cold-storage units and water-pumping technologies (called Ecofrost and Ecotron) for farmers and rural communities.

 

Ecozen flagship products include Ecofrost & Ecotron. Ecofrost is a portable solar powered cold room based on thermal energy storage, which can maintain low temperatures without any backup power. And Ecotron, a smart controller for irrigation pumps which complements our offerings in the solar/agri-solutions space and are a major market shareholder.

 

Ecozen's products are strongly integrated with the internet and give them extensive data about their usage and performance. Using this data, they are building a perishables friendly marketplace and powerful algorithms to improve product performance, serviceability and reliability.

 

Ecozen is backed by Caspian Impact Investments, Hivos-Triodos Fund, Omnivore, Innovation in Food & Agriculture Fund (IFA Fund), Dare Ventures, Northern Arc, UC Inclusive Credit, and others. The company raised Rs 54 crore ($7M) as a part of its first tranche of Series C on Jun 16, 2022. This brings Ecozen's total funding to $15.6M to date.
