David Energy

David Energy is a new kind of electricity supplier that designs, builds, and manages onsite energy grids.

David Energy empowers buildings with the tools needed to maximize onsite energy and bring transparency to a traditionally opaque, commoditized industry.

David Energy was founded in 2017 by Ahmed Salman, James McGinniss, and Brian Maxwell. The company is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.

David Energy is aiming to boost renewable energy adoption and slash energy usage in the built environment by creating a service that operates on both sides of the energy marketplace.

David Energy integrates with devices in customer homes and buildings such as battery storage, EV chargers, smart thermostats, solar, and more, and leveraging those devices directly into electricity markets, the company is able to buy and deliver power to customers far cheaper and more efficiently than incumbent providers.

David Energy’s software, Mycor, leverages building demand data and the assets that the building has at its disposal to shift user energy consumption to the times when renewable power is most available, and cheapest.

David Energy tracks both the market price of energy and the energy usage by the buildings it manages. The company sells energy to customers at a fixed price and then uses its windows into energy markets and energy demand to make money off the difference in power pricing.

David Energy has secured $19.1M on Feb 09, 2021, which includes a $4.1M in Seed round led by Equal Ventures and a $15M working capital facility from Hartree Partners. Additional seed investors include Operator Partners, Box Group, Greycroft and others. David Energy now has raised a total of $20.6M to date.
