Volograms

Volograms, a spun-out of Trinity College Dublin, is a technology startup on a mission to bring reality capture closer to everyone.

Volograms' technology uses a set of videos taken from different viewpoints and transform them into volumetric holograms, volograms, that can be enjoyed in Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Volograms was founded in 2018 by Rafael Pagés, Konstantinos Amplianitis, & Jan Ondřej. The company is headquartered in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland.

 

Volograms' technology enables the capture of real people into volumetric holograms, volograms, which can be enjoyed within all kinds of AR & VR experiences, apps, social media, using smartphones, tablets, AR and VR headsets.

Volograms' system works with different camera configurations, outdoor or indoor scenarios, and can even generate content with videos captured with handheld consumer devices.

Volograms has already partnered with companies such as Samsung, as well as the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and The London College of Fashion at The University of the Arts, London, on projects.

 

Volograms is backed by Enterprise Ireland, Sure Valley Ventures, Atlantic Bridge University Fund and Atlantic Bridge University Fund. The company raised €1.5M in new round on Jul 29, 2020. This brings Volograms' total funding to €2.4M to date.
