Tibber is a "digital electricity" supplier that uses AI to switch around power for houses based on their predicted levels of consumption.
Tibber is on a mission to change the way we buy and consume electricity.
Tibber was founded in 2016 by Edgeir Vårdal Aksnes and Swede Daniel Lindén. The company is headquartered in Fjordane, Fjordane, Norway, with offices in Berlin, Germany and Stockholm, Sweden.
Tibber replaces traditional utilities with smart technology, supplying its customers with renewable energy at transparent prices. In addition, its app provides real-time analytics into energy usage, and pairs with a variety of smart home devices to reduce electricity consumption at home.
Tibber has garnered over 100,000 paying households in Norway, Sweden and Germany, driven largely by customer referrals.
Tibber is backed by Founders Fund, Eight Roads Ventures, Balderton Capital, BKK, RFF Vest, Wellstreet and others. The company raised $65M in a Series B round on Nov 17, 2020. This brings Tibber's total funding to $80M to date.
