SIGFOX

Sigfox is the world's leading provider of connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT) that has built a global network to connect billions of devices to the Internet while consuming as little energy as possible, as simply as possible.

Sigfox's unique approach to device-to-cloud communications addresses the three greatest barriers to global IoT adoption: cost, energy consumption, and global scalability.

Sigfox was founded in 2009 by Ludovic Le Moan and Christophe Fourtet. The company is headquartered in Labège near Toulouse, with offices in Paris, Madrid, Munich, Boston, San Francisco, Dubai and Singapore.

Sigfox has partnered with a number of firms in the LPWAN industry such as Texas Instruments, Silicon Labs and ON Semiconductor. The ISM radio bands support limited bidirectional communication.

Sigfox employs the differential binary phase-shift keying (DBPSK) and the Gaussian frequency shift keying (GFSK) that enables communication using the Industrial, Scientific and Medical ISM radio band which uses 868MHz in Europe and 902MHz in the US.

Sigfox's network spans 75 countries, stitching together capacity from 75 carriers, and that it connects 20 million objects and sends 80 million messages per day.

Sigfox's investors include Khazanah Nasional, Salesforce Ventures, Bpifrance, & Total Energy Ventures, among others. The company has raised a total of €277M in funding. Sigfox has filed for bankruptcy protection in France in Jan 2022.
