Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab is a space systems company and the global leader in dedicated small satellite launch.

Rocket Lab’s mission is to remove commercial barriers to space. The company was founded on the belief that small payloads require dedicated launch vehicles and a flexibility not currently offered by traditional launch systems.

Rocket Lab was founded in June 2006, by Peter Beck. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles with operations and a launch site in New Zealand.

Rocket Lab provides end-to-end mission services, including complete satellite build and launch solutions, that provide rapid, frequent and reliable access to space.

Rocket Lab designs and manufactures the Electron small orbital launch vehicle and the Photon satellite platform and is developing the Neutron 8-ton payload class launch vehicle.

Rocket Lab’s Electron launch vehicle has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually and has delivered 105 satellites to orbit for private and public sector organizations, enabling operations in national security, scientific research, space debris mitigation, Earth observation, climate monitoring, and communications.

Rocket Lab is backed by Khosla Ventures, DCVC, K1W1, Bessemer Venture Partners, Lockheed Martin, and others. The company received a $24.4M from United States Space Force on Sep 24, 2021, bringing the total amount raised to $709.4M to date.
