Ramp is a developer of a peer to peer platform intended to provide exchange facilities for traditional currencies and crypto assets.
Ramp's is to open up digital assets to more businesses and users by making it possible to send or receive crypto without having to go through an exchange like Coinbase, for instance.
Ramp was founded in Poland in 2017 by Szymon Sypniewicz and Przemek Kowalczyk. The company is headquartered in London and Warszawa, Poland.
Ramp allows anyone that wants to offer crypto-enabled services to do so via its SDK in a few hours, without the need to set up their own on-ramping stack to an exchange, an extremely time-consuming and potentially costly business.
Ramp's payments infrastructure enables companies to embed crypto transacting in-app, without sending users off to another site, such as Coinbase or eToro.
Ramp has managed to partner up with more than 400 developers, including Mozilla, Browser and Dapper Labs and DeFi apps like Aave, Argent, Trust Wallet and Zerion. It is also the exclusive on-ramping partner for Sorare, the blockchain-based, global sports video game, and Flow, the blockchain which specializes in NFT marketplaces and digital assets.
Ramp is backed by Balderton Capital, Galaxy Digital, NFX, Seedcamp, Firstminute Capital, Taavet Hinrikus (Wise), and others. The company raised $52.7M in Series A round on Dec 15, 2021. This brings Ramp's total funding to $63.9M to date.
