Public.com

Public is a new kind of brokerage that makes it possible to buy any public stock with any amount of money.

Public makes it possible to own the companies you believe in, with any amount of money — commission-free.

Public was founded in 2017. The company is headquartered in New York, New York, with an office in Ballerup, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Public opens the gates by making investing free, social and slicing stocks into tiny bits so everyone can afford to own a piece of any public company. No matter their wealth or which circles they run in.

Public introduced features like Long-Term Portfolio to help members understand the differences between long- and short-term investing strategies, and built-in Safety Labels on potentially risky investments.

Public.com’s social-investing app launched in September 2019. It lets members buy shares in any publicly traded U.S. company or exchange-traded fund (ETF) like the SPDR S&P 500 for as little as $5 and doesn’t charge any commissions.

Public is backed by Accel, Greycroft, Lakestar, Intuition Capital, Tiger Global, Dreamers VC, Aglae Ventures, The Chainsmokers’ Mantis VC and others. The company raised $220M in a Series D round on Feb 17, 2021. This brings Public's total funding to $308.5M to date. The Series D round valued Public.com at $1.2B post money.
