Prenetics is a genetic testing/digital health company that empowers individuals with valuable health information.

Prentics develops iGenes PGx test that enables physicians to help patients identify the right drug, right dosage, and to list out potential adverse drug effects based on one’s genetic profile. 

Prenetics was founded in 2009 by Danny Yeung, Michael M Yang & Lawrence Tzang. The company is based in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Prentics is currently operational in 10 countries.

 

Prentics's iGenes PGx test is used to test cardiovascular, psychiatric, pain, hypersensitivity, and commonly prescribed drugs. The company also offers ONEdna, a DNA screening test service that provides a view and analysis of an individual's genes along with actionable recommendations. 

 

Prenetics, driven by a duty of responsibility due to the global pandemic launched Project Screen by Circle, an initiative aimed at making COVID-19 testing easy, safe and accurate. Prenetics has performed more than 300,000 RT-PCR COVID-19 tests in Hong Kong and in the U.K., having identified approximately 280 individuals as positive for COVID-19.

 

Prenetics was selected in May 2020 by U.K. Premier League to help re-start the football season by providing 40,000 COVID-19 tests for all 20 teams. Prenetics has been chosen again for the new season as the only testing provider by the Premier League.

 

Prentics is backed by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, Beyond Ventures, Ping An Ventures, Apis Insurtech Fund I, and others. The company raised $15M in new financing on Sep 17, 2020. This brings Prentics' total funding to $67.7M to date. Prentics has also acquired DNAFit & SOMA Analytics to date.
