nextProtein

nextProtein is producer of animal feed components and biological fertilizer from insect larvae.

nextProtein is developing a large scale and sustainable insect based source of protein.

nextProtein was founded in 2015 by Syrine Chaalala and Mohamed Gastli. The company is headquartered in Paris, Paris, France.

nextProtein's mission is to produce insect-based protein for animal feed stocks in a quest to accelerate sustainable agriculture and tackle resource scarcity with close to no carbon footprint.

nextProtein is dedicated to processing and producing insect-based protein for animal feedstocks at a lower cost with equivalent nutritional value. The company does this by taking otherwise unconsumed food on which to raise the insects, returning protein to the food cycle.

extProtein exemplifies the shift towards a full circular economy, moving away from the industry standard of using cereal by-products as a main feed source for the insects – for which there is already other market demands – to focus instead on wasted fruits and vegetables.

nextProtein is backed by Kima Ventures, Blue Oceans Partners, Telos Impact, RAISE Impact and others. The company raised €10.2M ($11.2M) in a new round of funding on June 01, 2020. This brings nextProtein's total funding to €11.6M to date.
