Formlabs is a 3D printing technology developer and manufacturer. The company develops an additive manufacturing technology with design centric approach for designers, engineers and makers that enables designers and engineers to create 3-Dimensional forms.

Formlabs designs and manufacturers the Form 2 stereolithography (SLA) and Fuse 1 selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printers for professionals.

Formlabs was founded in 2011 by David Cranor, Maxim Lobovsky, and Natan Linder. The company is based in Somerville, Massachusetts, with offices in North Carolina, Hungary, Germany, Japan, and China.

 

Formlabs products include the Form 3, Form 3B, and Form 3L, powered by Low Force Stereolithography (LFS)™ 3D printing, Form 2 SLA 3D printer, Form Wash and Form Cure post-processing solutions, Fuse 1 SLS 3D printer, and Form Cell manufacturing solution.

 

Formlabs also develops its own suite of high-performance materials that continue to push the boundaries for 3D printing, as well as best-in-class 3D printing software.

 

Formlabs is backed by NEA, SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2, Foundry Group, Threshold Ventures, Tyche Partners, Pitango Venture Capital, Innovation Endeavors, and others. The company raised $150M in Series E round on May 19, 2021. This brings Formlabs' total funding to $253.7M to date. The latest round doubled the company's valuation to $2B, from the previous $1B valuation gained in Aug 2018.
