CyberOwl

CyberOwl is a cybersecurity company that provides early warning of cybersecurity breaches in assets such as ships, ports, industrial plants and infrastructure and sets out clear priorities on how to tackle them.

CyberOwl’s mission is to shift organisations towards a risk-based approach for building cyber-physical resilience.

CyberOwl was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in London, London, United Kingdom.

CyberOwl builds on cutting-edge research that started its life at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom and completed at Coventry University.

CyberOwl's first product, Medulla, is a cloud-based cyber-physical risk prioritisation system that provides passive, remote protective monitoring for connected OT assets. The system provides real-time visibility and raises early warning on suspicious activity on OT systems and assets, particularly at reconnaissance, installation or lateral movements stages of an attack.

Medulla is unique in being able to escalate the cyber-physical risks based not just on observable threats and anomalous behaviour, but prioritises attacks on assets that are critical to operational processes.

CyberOwl is backed by 24 Haymarket, Mercia’s EIS funds, MEIF Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund and others. The company raised GBP1.8M in a new round of funding on Apr 27, 2020. This brings CyberOwl's total funding to $3.5M to date.
