SAP SE is a German multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. It provides enterprise application software to various industries, including consumer, discrete manufacturing, public services, energy and natural resources, financial services, and many other services.
SAP was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Walldorf, Germany. In August 1988, SAP GmbH became SAP AG, and public trading started on 4 November 1988. Shares were listed on the Frankfurt and Stuttgart stock exchanges. In 1995, SAP was included in the German stock index DAX and, on 22 September 2003, SAP was included in the Dow Jones STOXX 50.
